FELT & WOOD · FREE FILE CHECKER
Digital download files.
One calmer final check.
An Etsy-oriented file checker for names, sizes and readable image dimensions. Inspect metadata before delivery, without changing your originals.
Browser-local tool · metadata checks only · not affiliated with Etsy. No account or payment. This is not a guarantee of upload acceptance or print quality.
1. Choose your delivery files
Files are read in this browser. This tool has no upload endpoint. ZIP files stay closed; PDFs are not opened.
Inspection safety budget: 20 files / 200 MB total. Image headers only, up to 256 KiB per file.2. Optional print-size check
Use your advertised print size. A “300 DPI” label alone does not add pixels.

Rules checked 19 October 2026: Etsy digital listing guidance. Five files, up to 20 MB each. Filename and upload checks are conservative suggestions; you remain responsible for the final files.
Two tools, one careful listing
Check the files. Then explain them clearly.
This file checker covers what you deliver. Listing Workshop checks how you describe it: your Etsy title, all 13 tags and description. Take the dimensions and formats you have verified here into your listing copy.

How is the file checker different from Listing Workshop?
File checker reviews delivery-file metadata. Listing Workshop reviews your Etsy title, tags and description. Use the file checker to confirm what you plan to deliver, then use those facts in your listing copy. Neither tool predicts search rankings or guarantees sales.
What does this digital download checker inspect?
It checks filenames, file sizes, file counts and extensions against conservative Etsy-oriented rules. It can read some PNG and JPEG header dimensions and calculate PPI and aspect-ratio differences for a print size you enter. Unknown dimensions stay unknown. It does not validate complete file contents, licensing, colour accuracy or print quality.
What are Etsy’s digital file limits?
Etsy currently allows up to five files, with a maximum of 20 MB per file. File names can contain up to 70 alphanumeric characters, periods, underscores or hyphens. This checker flags its conservative 20 MB boundary; always verify the actual upload with Etsy.
Are my files uploaded or changed?
The checker reads metadata in your browser and has no file-upload endpoint. Originals are not changed. PNG/JPEG header reads are bounded to 256 KiB; PDFs are not opened and ZIP archives are not unpacked. The site’s optional analytics follow your analytics-consent setting. Do not treat metadata checks as a security scan.
Does a 300 DPI label guarantee a printable file?
No. Effective PPI depends on the available pixels and the print dimensions you enter. This tool also flags an aspect-ratio mismatch. A useful PPI value cannot certify sharpness, colour, image integrity or a printer’s requirements; review the original artwork and your print provider’s guidance.
Is it free, and what can I export?
The checker is free with no account or payment. After a successful check, you can export TXT or JSON metadata reports locally. The inspection budget is 20 files and 200 MB per batch, separate from Etsy’s smaller upload limits. Files over 100 MB receive basic metadata checks only.
